Every character starts with two choices, made with the Starter Guide.
XP rate
- Easy: 100x combat and 30x skilling experience.
- Regular: 60x combat and 15x skilling experience.
- Hard: 5x experience, and a 10% better chance at drops.
You can switch to an easier rate later, but never back to a harder one.
Iron Man modes
- Iron Man: no trading. Everything you own, you earned.
- Hardcore Iron Man: the same, but a dangerous death costs you the status.
- Ultimate Iron Man: no bank either.
You can only choose Iron Man at the start. Each mode has its own hiscores.
